The city of Detroit declared bankruptcy on Thursday July 18. The conclusion of 60 years of decline, which have led to the city emptying of its population. Abandoned buildings, public services reduced to a minimum, ubiquitous unemployment … the agony of Detroit never ends. For the inhabitants, on a daily basis, this represents streets that are no longer lit, police officers who take infinite time to get to the scene, firefighters who see their budget reduced each year … Today, unemployment is at the highest, per capita income at the lowest.
