REPORTAGE – The demonstration against a water reservoir in Deux-Sèvres turned into guerrilla warfare. For more than an hour, the gendarmes received a rain of projectiles and responded with more than 4,000 grenades.

Three convoys must converge on the demonstration, banned by the prefecture since March 17, against an empty water reservoir in Sainte-Soline, which has become the symbol of a new “struggle“ecologist, after the airport of Notre-Dame-des-Landes, in the Loire-Atlantique department, or the Sivens dam in the Garonne basin. Two protest movements which had caused many injuries. And the scenario repeated itself this Saturday: according to the authorities, 28 gendarmes were injured, including two in “absolute urgencyand had to be evacuated to hospital.
