Arrived in Orlando during the 2016/17 season, Terrence Ross is now a former member of the Magic squad, after the departure of the Fournier-Gordon-Vucevic trio. The winger, who excelled in his role as a luxury joker out of the bench, could see it evolve, and find the five major this season.

“I’ve done both, so I’m comfortable with both. It’s not like either one is new to me ”, slipped T-Ross who also started two of Orlando’s first three preseason games against the Celtics and Spurs. “It’s pretty much the same. All systems are similar and in ten years I have seen them all. It’s just that they have different names. It took me maybe a day or two to learn all the terminology, all the systems, but I adapted well ”.

What is certain is that his mission as a veteran with the youngest will necessarily gain a little more momentum, while only two players in the squad will be older than him (E’Twaun Moore and Robin Lopez).

Admiring Mo Bamba’s progress, while waiting for Jalen Suggs

Faced with this new responsibility, Terrence Ross intends to remain a leader by example, who speaks only “When necessary”. His coach Jamahl Mosley has in any case appreciated his attitude so far.

“He shows a great example. He does this in different ways. Sometimes vocally, catching the younger ones to talk to them about certain situations he sees. Sometimes he’s the first on the pitch to shoot. He sets an example in his own way, without having to say it. He is fantastic “, did he declare.

Young in his thirties, Terrence Ross seems to appreciate this new cap, and tries to show good advice to his teammates, at least as much as he does with his six-year-old son, Tristan, a big fan of Mo Bamba.

“It’s always fun to see the rookies come in because they have this raw talent and seeing them grow over the years is really what makes a career so beautiful. Like Mo Bamba. He happened when he was young and raw and now you can see him start to form, take shape and be that player he’s about to become ”, T-Ross added. “That’s my favorite thing about rookie watching, and it’s the same with Jalen (Suggs). He has so many qualities and can do so many different things. When they start to put it all together that’s where it gets fun and you start to see the player he’s going to be ”.
