Implenia and Webuild Group win tender in Italy

The construction groups Implenia and Webuild Group have won a tender for 1.07 billion euros, launched by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana for the construction of a new rail section in northern Italy.

Implenia has a 49% stake in the consortium made up for the occasion, the 51% going to its transalpine partner, said a press release released on Monday.

The new 22.5 km railway line, from Fortezza to Ponte Gardena, will start from the Brenner base tunnel and will reduce the travel time of passenger and freight trains between Munich and Verona.
