The security company White Ops issued an alert for 19 Android applications that are actually malicious software that tricks users into saying that it has not been installed correctly to obtain extra permissions to access users’ personal data.

The apps are mostly photography, to blur photos, and “After downloading this application, open your phone and start to be bombarded by ads that appear out of nowhere”. The apps are as follows:

  • Magic Call Flash
  • Easy Blur
  • Image Blur
  • Auto Photo Blur
  • Photo Blur
  • Photo Blur Master
  • Super Call Screen
  • Square Blur Master
  • Square Blur
  • Smart Blur Photo
  • Smart Photo Blur
  • Super Call Flash
  • Smart Call Flash
  • Blur Photo Editor
  • Blur Image

The recommendation is to immediately uninstall these applications and not give extra access to the applications, beyond the function that they are supposed to fulfill.
