How CEO Eickholt wants to restructure the wind company

Aachen (First publication: May 31, 2022, 1:28 p.m.) At Siemens, he is regarded as the “chief reorganizer”; after all, he managed to bring the group’s ailing “mobility division” back into the profit zone. Jochen Eickholt is now the last hope to make the wind company Siemens Gamesa profitable again after years of crisis. Eickholt doesn’t see a reason why this shouldn’t work. In an interview with the Handelsblatt, he outlines his plan to restructure one of the world’s largest turbine manufacturers.

In addition to higher prices and better contracts to better protect himself against raw material costs and supply chain problems in the future, the 60-year-old does not shy away from tough austerity measures. “I can’t rule out anything at the moment, so sorry about that,” says Eickholt, with a view to possible job cuts or the closure of entire plants.
