For “Him”, his new director’s film in which he also plays, Guillaume Canet has assembled a prestigious cast that we discover in the first images tinged with mystery which have just been unveiled.
Before embarking on his Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Empire, whose filming recently ended, the actor-director has put in a box a psychological thriller he had written during the first confinement: Him.
Shot in Brittany, the feature film follows a composer in need of inspiration who, after having left his wife and children, thinks of finding refuge in an old house on the side of a cliff, on a Breton island. In this strange and isolated place, he will only find an out of tune piano and visitors determined not to leave him in peace …
It is Guillaume Canet himself who embodies this artist in the midst of an existential crisis and he is well surrounded as Virginie Efira plays his wife and Laetitia Casta his mistress. His best friend is played by Mathieu Kassovitz while his parents have the features of Nathalie Baye and Patrick Chesnais. Also in the cast: Gilles Cohen who plays his doctor.
The trailer for this film that the filmmaker describes on Instagram like “very important to (him)“promises a story of introspection blending tension and mystery. To be discovered in theaters on October 27th.
