This morning there was a spectacular overturn on the road that connects Mendoza with Chile. Around 10 o’clock, a Volvo truck that was circulating westbound -to the neighboring country- it came off the asphalt and ended up overturning on its side.
It was at kilometer 1133 on Route 7. The driver, C.E.G, managed to pass through tunnel 10 but then lost control, moving on the south shoulder although without obstructing traffic.
As has happened recently in high mountain accidents, it was suspected from the beginning that the driver could be under the effects of a drink. It is more: the dosage threw 0.85 grams of alcohol per liter. It is worth noting that the Law prohibits truckers from consuming this type of substance.
Hence, the driver’s license was retained and the accused – who did not suffer injuries – was Late at police station 23.
