Health: The maternal and fetal health initiative aims to follow up on a woman and her newborn 42 days after birth

The Ministry of Health and Population said that the President’s initiative for maternal and fetal health aims to monitor the health of the mother and newborn for 42 days after birth, adding that the initiative continues to work in health units from 8 am to 2 pm.

The initiative provides a range of health services for the mother and fetus, the most important of which are:

1- Early detection of infection with B virus, human immunodeficiency virus, and syphilis for pregnant women.

2- Follow-up on the condition of the mother and newborn for 42 days, after termination of pregnancy, to discover risk factors.

3- Dispensing the necessary micronutrients during the postpartum period.

4- Carry out blood sugar analyzes and physical measurements.

5- It continues to operate throughout the official working days from 8 am to 2 pm.

6- It includes a clinical examination to assess the general condition of the pregnant woman and the fetus.

7- Tetanus vaccination.

8- Measure the length.

9- Measuring weight and blood pressure.

10- Conducting various necessary analyzes to detect anemia.

11- Determining whether or not the mother needs an Anti-D injection after childbirth.

12- Conducting a complete urine analysis to detect albumin and urinary system diseases.
