American researchers have named a disease that increases the risk of developing multiple sclerosis by 32 times. This is reported by “Medic Forum”.

Scientists at Harvard University were able to find out that the biggest influence on the possibility of an incurable neurological condition is infectious mononucleosis. It is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, which is present in almost 80 percent of the world’s population. At the same time, the presence of other infections did not adversely affect the development of multiple sclerosis.

Previously, scientists from the University of California spoke about the effect of sunlight on the development of multiple sclerosis. According to them, daily exposure to sunlight can protect against multiple sclerosis and autoimmune diseases. More frequent walks in the fresh air in sunny weather should be arranged, as they have a beneficial effect on health and reduce the risk of developing diseases, the experts concluded.
