The Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell, announced that after returning to face-to-face classes, no rebound in COVID-19 cases has been recorded in minors. Even, he stressed, in the 32 states there is a “clear trend of reduction of cases ”.

Less than 10% of infections affect children

During the morning press conference, led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, López-Gatell said that less than 10% of the total infections registered in the country affect children.

Two weeks after the return to face-to-face classes began, López-Gatell emphasized that this has not represented an increase in COVID cases in children.

“It is not shown that there is an increase in cases in minors, the epidemic in minors has not picked up. Less than 10% of the cases that are registered are in minors and more than 95%, in general, are mild cases ”.
