Health: Receiving one million doses of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine at Cairo Airport

Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and acting Minister of Health and Population, announced receiving one million doses of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine against the Corona virus, this morning, Thursday, at Cairo International Airport, provided by the government of the State of Argentina, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. between Egypt and Argentina.

This comes within the state’s plan to diversify and expand the provision of anti-Coronavirus vaccines, in order to preserve the state’s gains in addressing the pandemic.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the shipment will be subject to the necessary analyzes and checks in the laboratories of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, to ensure the safety and effectiveness of vaccines before they are approved and presented in the vaccination centers scattered in all governorates of the Republic.

“Abdul Ghaffar” indicated that the shipment of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine against the Corona virus arrived at Cairo Airport, and was received by the delegation of the Argentine Embassy in Cairo, headed by Ambassador Eduardo Varela, the Argentine ambassador in Cairo, Minister Plenipotentiary Sebastian D’Alessio, Deputy Head of Mission, Colonel Oscar Ferro, Military Attaché, and Maria Venochetto. First Secretary of the Argentine Embassy, ​​in addition to Ambassador Ashraf Mounir, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Latin American Affairs, representing the Egyptian side.

It is worth noting that Egypt was able in a short time to provide all the anti-Coronavirus vaccines approved by the World Health Organization, which included (Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Sputnik, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna) as part of the country’s plan for diversification and expansion in Providing anti-coronavirus vaccines.

The Ministry of Health and Population calls on citizens to register on the ministry’s website https://egcovac.mohp.gov.eg/#/registration to receive coronavirus vaccines, stressing that the Egyptian state spares no effort in providing vaccines to citizens for free, through permanent cooperation with organizations international bodies; In order to ensure the preservation of the state’s gains in addressing the pandemic.
