He reaches the million kilometers with his Peugeot and comes to thank the factory workers

Fabrice Gommé celebrated the millionth kilometer of his Peugeot 307 by going to the factory where it was made. Unfortunately, the odometer remained stuck at “only” 999,999 km.

Fabrice Gommé is a millionaire. But not in his bank account. This million is on the dashboard of his Peugeot 307 which entered the assembly line on June 16, 2006. He covered the millionth kilometer by going to the Peugeot Adventure museum near Sochaux, and passing by the Tremery site (Moselle) where its engine was manufactured. The owner of this very robust 307 wanted people who “tightened the bolts” on his car to be able to see it after 1 million km.

Unfortunately, even with about 1,200 meters more, his 307 did not show 1,000,000 kilometers, but the odometer stopped at 999,999. If we do the math, that means that this car has driven more than 66,000 km/year since leaving the factory, or 5,500 km/month. If you have any doubts, know that the engine of his Peugeot 307 has never been changed, nor even the turbo. Its 1.6 HDi is still original.

A nice ending?

The owner of this millionaire 307 told our colleagues from Paris that he had refused the challenge of a worker at the Peugeot factory, namely to travel a second million kilometers : “I was already afraid that she would drop in the last 300 on her way, so two million… I think she’s nearing the end”. Its engine is therefore still the same, but the gearbox was changed at around 600,000 kilometers, at the same time as the clutch.
