NAfter the commitments of Leroy Sané, Tanguy Nianzou and Alexander Nübel, the bosses of FC Bayern see themselves confirmed in having put on sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. The former professional has been a manager in Munich since 2017, rising from sports director to sports director in early July 2020. “With the transfers made so far, Hasan has proven that he controls his business,” said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge of the “Sport Bild”.
The CEO also praised the 43-year-old for his work with the youth record champions. “With this two-pillar system, thanks to Hasan, we are on the right track again,” he said. Salihamidzic was initially smiled at by some experts. The signing of international Sané from Manchester City, which cost around 50 million euros, was significantly less than a year ago, but was a great success for the Bosnian.
According to “Sport Bild”, it was Salihamidzic who let goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and defender David Alaba look down on their high salary demands. In doing so, he gained respect and recognition on Säbener Strasse. Neuer then extended his contract until the summer of 2023. No decision has yet been made at Alaba, whose contract expires in mid-2021.
Alongside Alaba, midfielder Thiago is the second top performer who could leave the club in the summer. The Spaniard wants to leave and is even supposed to agree with Liverpool FC. The Bavarians recently asserted that no club had yet reported for a transfer. According to “Sport Bild”, the Munich-based company only wants to hand over the game designer from a transfer fee of 30 million euros.
Salihamidzic meanwhile did not rule out further commitments on the transfer market. “Basically, it’s always about enriching the quality of our team or stabilizing it. What that means depends on many factors. The transfer window is open until October 5, we won’t close any doors until then, ”said Salihamidzic.
In the event of a departure, the German record champions would have to take action. The Bavarians want to try to “broadly position their squad,” said Salihamidzic. On Säbener Straße, hopes will also be found in the talks with Inter Milan about loan player Ivan Perisic. At the moment, the transfer fee and the salary of the 31-year-old are said to be too high.
FC Bayern has so far not presented a successor to the previous amateur coach after the move from Sebastian Hoeneß to 1899 Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. As the club said, they would decide “promptly” about the new coach for the amateur team in the third division.
“We are proud of what is being done on the FC Bayern campus. We not only train young players there, but also coaches. It is of course a shame that Sebastian is leaving us, but we have decided not to put any obstacles in his way, ”said Salihamidzic. “Sebastian is a great boy, we wish him all the best for the Bundesliga and the games in the Europa League with the TSG.”
