'Gijón Invest II' returns to finance companies in the Asturian city

It has been one of the most successful municipal financing tools for projects and companies in recent years and it is back on track. The bottom of venture capital SME Gijón Invest II born with a purely municipal endowment of five million euroswhich will be managed by the entity TORSA Capital, in charge of analyzing the projects that are likely to participate in it.

This fund, which is now fully operational, and of which the Gijón/Xixón City Council is the sole participanthas resources destined to finance technology-based business projects that promote R+D+i activities.

What companies can apply

The investments are focused on those companies that, due to their activity, fall within the strategic axes of the Knowledge Mile:

– Creative sector
– Green Economy
– Circular Economy-Blue Economy

Starting from the previous axes, the Fund will invest in companies located in different verticals, such as Health, Education, Tourism, Biotech, Software and Digitization in general.

The Fund is designed to invest in different phases of business lifeamong which can be identified:

a.- SEED: Early stages with products in development prior to going on the market.

b.- Start Up: Start-up of newly constituted companies.

c.- Early Stage: Companies in the growth phase that demonstrate traction in the market.

d.- Expansion: Companies in mature stages in the process of internationalization or inorganic growth based on acquisitions.

Los investment tickets They will range from €50,000 in the initial stages to €500,000 in expansion phases.
