Georgia primaries: Trump’s failed revenge campaign

DDonald Trump didn’t dwell on the recent Republican primary. The day after the Texas shooting, the former president said America needed “real leadership” in this situation. That’s why he’s sticking to his appearance at the National Rifle Association on Friday. The annual gun lobby meeting is held in Houston, the largest city in Texas, a four-hour drive from Uvalde. Trump announced that he would give an important speech. Until then he will pray for the victims and the bereaved. The Secret Service also announced that members of the interest group would be prohibited from carrying weapons during the speech.

Regarding the primary elections in several states, Trump only said on his Truth Social platform that his election recommendations had proven to be very successful. But some of the primaries, he said, were impossible to win. This apparently also referred to the failures in Georgia, which must have hurt him particularly. His revenge campaign against two leading Southern Republicans who did not want to participate in his “big lie” after the 2020 presidential election, his big lie about alleged voter fraud by the Democrats, has failed: Governor Brian Kemp and his Secretary of the Interior Brad Raffensperger were on Tuesday evening re-elected by the Republicans for the November elections. The opponents supported by Trump stumbled – Kemp’s opponent David Perdue even miserably.
