Genich believes that it is too early to talk about the completion of the project of Slutsky and Yarovinsky in Rubin

Match TV commentator Konstantin Genich believes that Rubin head coach Leonid Slutsky will retain his post.

In the last 8 matches, the Kazan club won only one victory and takes 13th place in the RPL table, gaining 29 points in 28 rounds.

– Rubin lost again, although it looked good against Lokomotiv. This is already the 6th defeat in the last 8 matches, but, despite the crisis, it is too early to say that the project of Slutsky and Yarovinsky in Kazan is completed. Last season, Slutsky led the team to fourth place, everything was fine, the management was happy. Then in the spring, Rubin not only had a good game, but the team was also frankly lucky. There were many matches that they dragged in the end. The team jumped way over their heads. Now the situation is reversed, even in equal matches Rubin loses.

Not only Rubin was faced with the departure of legionnaires, but the same Krasnodar and Rostov managed to quickly adapt to new conditions, while Slutsky believes that everything is going against him and has the right to do so. Slutsky was signed for five years – this speaks of trust from the leadership. I am sure that Rustem Saimanov will continue to trust the head coach. Slutsky should stay at Rubin only if he himself does not decide to leave, deciding that he has nothing more to give to the team, Genich told Match TV.

The current contract of the 51-year-old specialist with Rubin runs until the summer of 2024.
