From October tourists have to pay admission to the Salzburg Cathedral – Reisen aktuell

Salzburg – Around two million people visit Salzburg Cathedral in a normal year. Not just to pray, but to see the baroque church. “The cathedral is a beautiful building, but it is not rich,” said Domkustos Prelate Johann Reissmeier at a press conference on Wednesday, explaining why tourist visitors will have to pay a contribution to the preservation of the cathedral in the future. From October 23, entry to the Salzburg Cathedral will cost five euros per person.
