In the UK, the debate between the two candidates to succeed Boris Johnson was interrupted after the moderator fainted.
On Tuesday evening, BBC viewers witnessed a heated debate between Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak. But journalist Kate McCann has also made a lot of noise, unwittingly. Indeed, the debate had to be interrupted around 6:30 p.m. because she fainted.
The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs was speaking about the importance of not letting Vladimir Putin invade Ukraine when a dull sound of collapse was heard. Ms. Truss, taken aback, walked out of camera.
Kate McCann recovered quickly. “Good news that you are already feeling better”Rishi Sunak wrote to him on Twitter. “Relieved to hear that KateEMcCann is doing well. So sorry that such a debate had to stop”tweeted Liz Truss.
This was the second debate between the two finalists from the Conservative camp to succeed Boris Johnson in September. Discredited by a series of scandals, the Brexit champion resigned on July 7.
