France is preparing for the holidays

This is one of the only good consequences of the health situation. Because of the coronavirus crisis, 9 out of 10 French people have planned to spend their summer holidays in France. A boon for the tourism sector, one of the most affected by the period of confinement, which lasted until the beginning of June in restaurants. In regions where one lives from tourism, it is already time to prepare to welcome boaters.

This is particularly the case in Villefranche-sur-Mer, in the Alpes-Maritimes, even if in this seaside town accustomed to cruise passengers, one does not have many illusions. “We know very well that we will not have our Americans, our Russians”, explains the deputy mayor. Higher up, the Auron resort (Alpes-Maritimes) has relaunched its ski lifts, hoping that there will be many hikers.
