The notebook market sector sees various protagonists constantly active with their products, but also niche producers who offer particular and interesting solutions. Among these we find Framework, a company present on the market for several years and specialized in modular notebooks. In the last few hours, Framework has announced some interesting news concerning modular notebooks, with the launch of new products that will also arrive in Italy. Let’s see together the new portable Framework just announced. Framework Laptop 13 Framework Laptop 13 is the new generation of the modular laptop that the company had also launched in the past. With this new announcement, we see the renewed Framework Laptop 13 with thirteenth generation Intel Core processors, a battery with a capacity of 61 Wh, certainly relevant compared to competitors on the market of the same size and which should therefore ensure consistent autonomy. Compared to the previous generation, the audio sector has also been improved, and new colors have been introduced. These innovations also come based on the feedback received from the community following the first product launched on the market. In addition to the variant with Intel processors, Framework has announced Framework Laptop 13 also with AMD Ryzen 7040 processors. In this case we also find DDR5-type RAM and an AMD-compatible wireless connectivity card. Framework Laptop 16 This is a totally new product for Framework. The 16″ modular notebook is characterized by a high degree of customization as regards the keyboard. As you can see from the images in the gallery, this is compatible with the customization of the RGB backlighting via software, but also in terms of hardware since it will be possible to choose whether to integrate or keep the numeric keypad as a separate accessory. The same compatibility is ensured for other accessories such as secondary displays and macro pads. The new Framework laptop arrives with support for the Expansion Bay system, which ensures the possibility of performing software and hardware updates also in terms of GPU and individual components. From the point of view of memories, we find the PCIe x8 interface and also support for expansion via M.2 SSD modules up to 16 TB of additional space. Also from the point of view of peripherals , users will have a lot of freedom thanks to the possibility of integrating 3.5 mm audio jacks, but also via USB or interfaces to wireless. Framework has already released open source projects on GitHub for customizing input modules, docking station modules, and expansion cards. Release and Price The excellent news from Framework also consists in the fact that the company has reported that it is also opening up to the Italian market. Framework Laptop 13 will be available in Italy later this year. Pre-orders are open, for which a fully refundable €100 deposit is required. In the US market, the device costs $1,049 for the Windows 11 version and $849 for the DIY version. Framework Laptop 16 should be ready for shipments by the end of the year.
