The president of the Foyer rural Franck Chavet takes stock of this new school year.
How is this recovery going?
Every year is different and although this is the 12th as President, the stress is always present. But fortunately, it was quickly evacuated because I know I can count on an efficient, dedicated team that is aware of the importance of our action. I’m going to tell you a secret, I’m going to continue the adventure.
What can you tell us about the upcoming season?
The exercise that is starting will be full of surprises and entertainment, notably with the International Skating Championship, the organization of which has been entrusted to us by the French Federation of Roller Skating. It is a great satisfaction and proof of the very high level reached by our skaters. It is also a great reward for the work done by Laurie Vidal and her team.
What changes should we expect this fall?
New activities should emerge, such as home-made cosmetic and ecological workshops and the “Roundnet or spike ball”. Regarding this sport, I invite all those who do not know it to come and attend and participate in a demonstration Saturday September 9 in Maurin. We have other interesting proposals and ideas to finalize, you will know more that day.
Volunteering is often presented as being in crisis, what do you think?
That’s what I would have said a few months ago, but the year that is ending will have been a good year with dynamic recruits, volunteers who have been able to integrate without any difficulty. It is very reassuring for the future. We can still do better, that’s the meaning of my editorial in our activity guide.
How is the FR Maurin in number of members?
We have greatly exceeded the pre-Covid level with more than 700 members. This figure does not take into account the hundreds of people that we bring together during our events.
The final word ?
See you on Saturday September 9 in Maurin from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday September 10 on the quays of Port Ariane.
