Munich / Unterföhring – A 66-year-old swimmer suddenly went under at Lake Feringa for reasons that were not yet clear while swimming on Saturday, September 2nd. According to the lifeguard, the drowning happened around 5 p.m.
Lake Feringa: Water rescue finds 66-year-olds under water after four minutes
Lucky for the victim: the man’s companion, who had observed the drowning, immediately alerted other passers-by with loud calls for help. These in turn set the rescue chain in motion by pressing an emergency telephone.

According to their own statements, the water rescuers from the Unterföhring water rescue service were at the scene of the accident within a minute. Just four minutes later, they were able to find the 66-year-old underwater and save him on land. Resuscitation measures using a defibrillator were immediately initiated on the shore.
Rescue by the water rescue service at Lake Feringa: the 66-year-old’s state of health is unclear
The water rescuers handed the patient over to the emergency doctor a little later, who transported him to the shock room of a Munich clinic while resuscitation was ongoing.
The companion of the 66-year-old then had to be cared for by the crisis intervention team. The water rescue service has no information about the current state of health of the casualty.
