Formula 1: Schumacher change from the table? Rennstall makes it official

Even before the weekend in Zandvoort there was speculation about a move from Valtteri Bottas to Alfa Romeo, now the team has announced the decision. The Finn takes over the cockpit from formula 1-Legende Kimi Räikkönen.
Raikkonen announced his career end last week, and his successor has now been finalized. A fin replaces a fin.
“He is the right driver to help Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN to take a step forward towards the top”, team boss Frederic Vasseur is quoted on the team’s homepage.

What will become of Mick Schumacher?
Mick Schumacher was also considered a candidate to succeed Kimi Räikkönen, but it is becoming more and more likely that he will stay with Haas. Haas boss Günther Steiner had announced that the driver duo would be announced this week.
The move from Bottas to Alfa Romeo is particularly explosive because a Mercedes man is now joining a Ferrari customer team. As a rule, Ferrari placed its drivers with the Hinwill team.

What will become of the second driver Antonio Giovinazzi is still unclear. His contract expires at the end of the season. The change from Bottas could be the beginning of a big change orgy. George Russell is the top favorite to succeed Bottas. This would in turn free up a cockpit at Williams.

- In 2008 Mick Schumacher made his first attempts at karting. He started under the pseudonym Mick Betsch so as not to attract too much attention
- In 2015 he started in Formula 4, where he finished 2nd in the overall standings in 2016 and was promoted to Formula 3
- In Formula 3, he finished the 2017 season in 12th place. In 2018 he won the Formula 3 championship and thus got his starting place for Formula 2
- In 2020 Mick Schumacher won Formula 2 and received a contract with Formula 1 racing team Haas
- Mick Schumacher is part of the Ferrari Drivers Academy
