The police crashed into a passenger car on Zonnelaan in Groningen on Friday evening. Three men from the city of Groningen and two underage boys from Groningen were arrested.
Police spokesman Thijs Damstra reports this. “Two suspects are minors, the other two are 19 years old, the other 20 years old. They have all been arrested on suspicion of possession of prohibited weapons.”
A report had been received that a passenger car would be driving around in the Beijum district containing people with possible weapons or firearms.
On the Zonnelaan, on the other side of the city, a passenger car was then run over by the police. Police officers wore bulletproof vests. The occupants were talked out of the vehicle by the police using a BTGV, approach technique dangerous suspect. Police officers found several paintball guns in the vehicle that was hit.
Not all suspects are incarcerated. The car has been impounded. The investigation is still ongoing.
