An Sunday, September 3rd, the Wiesen fire brigade had to respond to a garage fire in the evening.
Just three minutes after the alarm was raised, the first emergency vehicles were on their way towards the scene shortly before 8 p.m.
At first, no fire could be seen at the house in question in the local area.
A neighbor who was present informed the fire department that the owners were not at home.
The officer in charge then noticed that smoke was coming from an outbuilding, a garage.
Tin door was cut open
A respiratory protection team cut open the sheet metal door to the outbuilding and was thus able to gain access to the premises.
Shortly thereafter, the reason for the smoke could be localized, a refrigerator.
The attack party carried the refrigerator outside. Finally, a follow-up check was carried out with the thermal imaging camera and the smoke was removed from the adjacent building using a fan.
After 20 minutes, the operations manager was able to report “fire out”.
The police who were present then took over the scene and the Wiesen fire brigade was able to move back into the equipment house after 40 minutes.
The Wiesen volunteer fire brigade was on duty with all five vehicles and 38 members, the police were on site with two officers and Burgenland Energie with one employee.
