The Finnish Grand Prix, counting towards the MotoGP World Championship and scheduled for July 11, has been canceled.
This race will be replaced by the Styrian GP which will take place on August 8, the International Federation (FIM) announced on Friday.
This decision was taken because of the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and the health measures taken in Finland to deal with it. The race was to take place at the new KymiRing circuit, which should have already hosted its first MotoGP race last year. But it had also been canceled due to the pandemic.
The MotoGP World Championship therefore still has 19 races for this 2021 season, but its calendar remains subject to change. Two races are also registered but without any fixed date, the GP of Argentina and the United States.
