FilGoal | News | Tuchel ahead of Barcelona: Chelsea have agreed to leave Alonso

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed the news of the departure of his full back Marcos Alonso, who is linked to a move to Barcelona.

This came during the press conference after the team’s match against Everton, which ended with Chelsea winning 1-0.

“Alonso is trying to leave and we agreed to that,” Tuchel said. “There was no point in bringing him into the match today.”

And about the match, the German coach said: “It is important to build confidence, faith and the right atmosphere, to be open to hearing criticism for improvement, and to be happy with what we are doing well.”

He added, “Maybe it wasn’t the most fun Premier League game, there are 7 minutes of alternate time in the first half, then 10 minutes in the second half. Lots of stops and the two teams couldn’t find the rhythm.”

“We struggled in some moments, we didn’t want to take the risk in the last 25 metres. We didn’t move enough in the second half, and the ball was stuck in the middle of the field.”

In other statements via “BBC”, Tuchel said: “Winning remains a win and this is very important. We played against Everton at their stadium, which we have struggled over the past years to extract points from.”

He explained, “We have things to improve. Most of the time I was happy in the first half, but we lost a lot of balls in the second half and we didn’t control enough. We struggled physically but showed the necessary spirit to come out clean.”
