The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved additional offers from Liberty Puerto Rico for the agency’s Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB). Program participants can now choose from 30 offerings that include the company’s most popular internet, video and phone service combinations.
“Participation in the program has been very robust, with more than 15,000 applications so far,” said Naji Khoury, president and CEO of Liberty Puerto Rico. “We anticipate that now, with a broader number of offerings available through the EBB program, more clients will be able to get the services they need as they recover from the economic impact of the pandemic.”
According to Khoury, new offerings added to the EBB program include different video converter equipment options such as digital video recorders (DVRs) and Hub TV, as well as popular television packages such as Español de Primera and U-Pick. The executive added that the plans available to consumers through the EBB program must include internet and must be approved by the FCC.
The program offers a temporary help established by the FCC to provide a monthly discount of $ 50 on broadband internet services, in addition to telephone services if combined with internet.
