On December 7, 2022, China lifted its “zero Covid policy” which imposed drastic health measures on its population. Faced with this decision, the French industrialists present in the country are relieved but remain vigilant as to their supply because the wave of contaminations with the Omicron variant which is raging in the country is disrupting its supply chains and its production.
At last ! After three years of repeated confinements and drastic health checks, China, under pressure due to the extraordinary protests of its population which took place in the fall of 2022, ended its “zero Covid policy” on 7 December 2022. A relief for the 2,100 French companies present on site, which employ 480,000 people, according to February 2020 figures from Coface. According to the CCI France Chine survey of companies in China published on September 14, 2022, out of 303 responding companies, 82% were in favor of reducing the duration of confinement and 64% of improving quarantine conditions.
