Designed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, the smart glasses are available in three of the iconic models of the Franco-Italian firm.
After causing great expectation among gadget lovers since its launch was announced last August, this Thursday Facebook finally launched its first generation of smart glasses. These are the Ray-Ban Stories, designed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica.
According to Facebook, the innovative technology with which the device was equipped will offer users “a new way to capture photos and videos, share adventures and listen to music or take phone calls.”
What are their characteristics?
The designers incorporated two 5 MP dual cameras into the frame of the lenses, making it possible to take photos and videos of up to 30 seconds from a “single first-person perspective”. For privacy reasons, a capture LED light turns on to indicate that images are being captured.
Also integrated into the chassis are optimized open-ear loudspeakers, with support for Beamforming technology and a noise suppression algorithm. In addition, the three-microphone audio matrix promises optimal transmission of voice and sound.
Regarding Internet benefits, the glasses connect with Android and iOS devices through the Facebook application, with which it is possible to “import, edit and share content captured with the smart glasses” through social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Twitter, TikTok and Snapchat, among others.
Priced at $ 299, the Ray-Ban Stories are available in three iconic designs of the Franco-Italian firm and five different colors, so you can choose from 20 different variations. Also, the range of lenses includes transparent, sun, transition and graduated.
Currently it is possible to buy smart glasses on the Ray-Ban website, as well as in some stores in the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy and the United Kingdom.
