Ex-YB goalie Yvon Mvogo is about to end in Leipzig

He really wanted to launch his career with his move from YB to Leipzig in 2017. Now Yvon Mvogo (27) is threatened with free fall.

the essentials in brief

  • At RB Leipzig there is no more space for Yvon Mvogo.
  • In the summer he will have to look for a new club.
  • But without match practice, this mission is likely to be difficult.

With the hope of becoming number 1, Yvon Mvogo switched from YB to Leipzig in 2017 for 5 million euros. Three years and a measly five Bundesliga appearances later, he is loaned to PSV Eindhoven in Holland. However, he has extended his contract in Saxony until 2023.

But the situation for the 27-year-old looks bad. As “Bild” writes, RB is about to sign Janis Blaswich. The 30-year-old should complete the goalie team with Peter Gulacsi (31) and Josep Martinez (23). Then there is no more room for Mvogo.

Who wants to sign Yvon Mvogo?

And a future in the Dutch Eredivise also seems unlikely. The 1.89 meter tall Swiss lost his regular place to Joel Drommel after just one season. He was also ousted in the national team by Gregor Kobel.

The former YB goalie (154 games) should be looking for a new challenge. It seems almost impossible that a top club will sign him. Mvogo has only played one game this season. After all: In this he remained without conceding a goal.

Will Mvogo move to a top club?
