Ernesto Castro: “Nothing will stop El Salvador from being reborn”

After approving the reduction of deputies, the president of the Legislative Assembly, Ernesto Castro, stated that the legal monstrosities that allowed the political-electoral moves of the past will no longer be in force.

“It has been achieved: there will be no more deputies for residue. Now it will be the population that will decide who will represent them in this Assembly,” said the legislator.

He pointed out that today “there will be only 60 deputies who will make up this State Body, as it always should have been, even if it hurts the opposition.”

Yesterday, with 66 votes in favor, the Legislative Assembly approved the reduction of 84 deputies to 60, with the aim of improving the country’s legislative system and the administration of resources.
