Elevator collapsed at the President Hotel – two people died – Capital C

An elevator with passengers fell in the Moscow President Hotel, killing two people, an informed source told Interfax.

“The elevator fell from the seventh floor. It could contain two workers. According to preliminary data, they died,” the source said.

According to him, renovations were carried out on the seventh floor of the hotel.
The source clarified that the dead workers who repaired the elevator are citizens of Armenia.

The main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow confirmed information about two deaths as a result of the fall of the elevator.

“It was preliminarily established that during the repair work, the elevator fell into the shaft. Unfortunately, according to preliminary information, two workers died,” the head office said.

The official representative of the Moscow prosecutor’s office, Lyudmila Nefedova, said that a prosecutor’s check had been launched into the incident.

“The city prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation in connection with the discovery of the bodies of two men in a hotel on Bolshaya Yakimanka Street,” Nefedova said.

According to her, it was previously established that the dead were elevator maintenance workers.
