Fisker has opened the configurator for its Ocean 100% electric SUV, available in three variants: Sport, Ultra and Extreme. Prices in the UK start at 35,970 [circa 41.000 euro] by Giulia Favetti published on 28 March 2023, at 15:01 in the Fisker Electric Cars channel Presented at the Paris Auto Show in 2022, and before that at the Los Angeles Motor Show in 2021, Ocean, the first electric SUV from the American company Fisker , is ready to be configured and ordered. Three trim levels are available – Sport, Ultra and Extreme – with 2 or 4-wheel drive for approximately 4.8 meters in length. Starting from the first version, Ocean Sport has a single 275 HP engine, powered by a lithium-ion battery – whose capacity has not been disclosed – which promises 440 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle. The Ultra trim level guarantees 610 km of travel, again according to the WLTP cycle, and 540 HP of twin-engine power (one per axle). Again, the actual battery capacity has not been disclosed. The trio is completed by the Extreme trim, in turn equipped with two engines, four-wheel drive and with a declared range, again according to the WLTP, of 707 km with 550 HP of power. According to Enrik Fisker, CEO of the house, Ocean is the 100% electric SUV with the longest range sold to date in Europe. “This achievement is a milestone for everyone at Fisker and we are delighted that the range exceeds our initial calculations.” Extreme also has another ace up its sleeve, namely the “Solar Sky”, i.e. the photovoltaic cover on the roof which, according to the brand, would be able to generate – on average – enough energy for 2,400 km a year. In ideal conditions, such as the Mediterranean countries, the energy produced by the panels on the roof of Ocean could reach 3,200 km of extra mileage per year. Finally, each of the three versions offers bi-directional charging (V2G) and wireless charging for electronic devices. There is no lack of attention to sustainability, with the recycled carbon rims. Approval for homologation in the EU is expected by 28 April 2023: at which point Fisker will start deliveries in the Old Continent. According to the producer, the first Fisker Centers will open their doors on April 11 in Vienna and Copenhagen, with other locations “in Europe and the United States throughout 2023” to be progressively added. The automaker will initially make the EV available in the United States, Canada, Austria, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and France. Subsequently, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and India will also be touched. In China, Ocean is scheduled for 2024. At the latest update, the starting prices were as follows: Fisker Ocean Sport: from 41,900 euros Fisker Ocean Ultra: from 57,500 euros Fisker Ocean Extreme: from 69,950 euros
