Electoral census: CENI notes “results beyond forecasts” in Zone 1 and apologizes

(Togo Official) – In Togo, voter registration operations, which began on April 29, officially ended on Monday May 8 in Zone 1. In all, 1,065 centers, distributed under the authority of 19 CELIs, were opened during the 10 days of activities.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) welcomed the “strong mobilization of the populations” as well as their “grande patience”, in the long queues seen everywhere. “The results are beyond statistical forecasts”, further underlined the institution chaired by Yago Dabre.

Apologies were nevertheless presented for the various malfunctions recorded and “arrangements will be made” for the rest of the census.

The continuation precisely, it is from May 13 next on behalf of Zone 2 which concerns the Plateaux and the Central.
