elect the Valais personality for spring 2022

For the months of April, May and June, the nominees almost all have an international dimension. On the sporting level, alpine skiing and fencing are honored with world recognition and a European title. In the cultural field, Valais was able to shine at the Venice Biennale and Chablais at the Swiss Press Photo. Finally, two exploits are also among our selection: a world first in a solar plane near Verbier and an influencer with 500,000 subscribers who makes videos from his cellar in Leytron.

Marius Robyr
Alpine skiing, Crans-Montana

At over 60, the Leytron cheesemaker has become a social media star thanks to his cheese promotion videos viewed millions of times and more than 500,000 followers on TikTok.

Gabriel Monnet

At just 20 years old, the Chablaisien who began his career at the “Nouvelliste” won a Swiss Press Photo in the sports category for his shot of the Swiss Paralympic athlete Marcel Hug.

Latifa Echakhch

The fulliéraine artist was chosen to represent Switzerland at the Venice Biennale, one of the biggest contemporary art events in the world with a carte blanche at the Swiss Pavilion.

Alexis Bayard
Fencing, Grimisuat

The Grimisuat fencer won a bronze medal at the European Championships. In Valais, this had not happened since 2011 and the gold of Tiffany Géroudet.
