Two Dutch tourists were stuck with their car for hours in a mud puddle in a nature park in Wales last weekend. They were released by the North Wales 4×4 Response Group after about six hours.
The tourists were driving an all-terrain vehicle on a mountain trail in Snowdonia Natural Park when their vehicle got stuck in the mud puddle. Despite the poor mobile coverage in the mountainous area, they were able to call emergency services. A team that knows the region well rescued the two Dutchmen from the mud.
According to the rescue team, the tourists were lucky because they drove carefully and their car did not end up completely in the mud puddle.
The mountain trail may be used by cars, but is rarely maintained. The area is especially popular with tourists for its rural roads and mountainous landscape.
