Dolly Parton announced this week that she is co-writing her first novel next year – and is releasing an album inspired by the book.
“Run, Rose, Run,” which the country music icon wrote with best-selling author James Patterson, will be released by Little, Brown and Company on March 7, 2022. An album based on the book will also be released at the same time. time as the novel.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the release of my very first novel ‘Run Rose Run’ with the great James Patterson,” Parton shared on Facebook Wednesday.

Patterson tweeted Wednesday that he was “thrilled to team up with America’s most beloved superstar” on the project.
The 400-page novel is “a thriller about a young singer-songwriter on the rise and on the run, and determined to do whatever it takes to survive,” according to the Little, Brown and Company website.

Although the book marks the singer’s debut novel “Jolene”, this is not her first foray into literary works. Parton is the author of several books, including a tabletop book last year telling stories behind more than 170 of his songs.
Parton started the Imagination Library program in 1995, which sent free books to millions of children between birth and early kindergarten. Parton this year presented the 100 millionth book donation from Imagination Library to the Library of Congress collection.
