PHOENIX (AP) – AJ Pollock hit a two-run homer, Corey Seager and Max Muncy each contributed lone homers, and the Los Angeles Dodgers added their third consecutive victory Thursday by winning 6-3 over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Dodgers went 3-0 in the first inning thanks to Pollock’s home run going to the left field seats. They would have gotten a bigger advantage on the board if it hadn’t been for Kole Calhoun’s spectacular catch on the right that prevented an extra-base hit by Justin Turner.
Los Angeles expanded its income to 4-0 with Seager’s homer to right field. Dominican Ketel Marte brought Arizona 4-1 in the third with its first home run of the season, but the Dodgers responded by scoring in the fifth and sixth to build a comfortable income.
Ross Stripling (2-0) won his second game in two starts after 5 innings and a third in which he allowed three plate hits. Dominican Pedro Báez got his first save of the season with a ninth blank inning.
The loss went to Robbie Ray’s record (0-2) after a four-episode, two-thirds effort with five hits and as many scores.
For the Dodgers, Puerto Rican Kiké Hernández 4-1.
