Mauricio Enrique Coronel Banda, who studied Medicine at the Central University of Ecuador, in dialogue with Diario Crónica, commented that he had the opportunity to participate in the preparation of the competitive exam MIR (Resident Internal Physician) of Spain, directed for all the galenos.
Coronel Banda reported that between 8 and 12 thousand doctors attended the preparation for this exam, selecting 4 thousand according to the score to opt for the desired specialty; otherwise the system gives them the one that is consistent.
He also added that, “at present, Ecuador does not have sufficient economic resources, and a certain percentage of inhabitants cannot access medical services; however, the country has high-quality professionals.” (YO)
