“Do you have a cigarette? And then the stab in the chest”: the shocking story of the 19-year-old attacked in via Padova

The carabinieri of the Monforte Company are investigating the attack suffered last night in via Padova by a nineteen-year-old of Egyptian origin, hospitalized in the Niguarda hospital with two wounds to the chest and right hand: fortunately, the first medical bulletins immediately ruled out the danger of life, despite the very delicate point hit by the blade. According to what the young North African told the Carabinieri of the Nucleo Radiomobile, the attack took place a few minutes after three. The boy reported having met a compatriot, whom he knows by sight but whose personal details he has not been able to give: “Can you give me a cigarette?”, he asked. When he refused, the other allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest for no apparent reason, and then ran away. Again according to the 19-year-old’s statements, the raid took place near number 135, near the intersection with via Scurati; the young man managed to walk a few hundred meters to the corner with via Cavezzali. There he was rescued by Areu doctors, who accompanied him to the Niguarda emergency room. The investigators of the Arma also arrived in via Padova, who took note of the words of the wounded man, in truth few and at the moment not decisive, and immediately started the search to identify the perpetrator of the armed blitz. An aid to the investigation could come from the analysis of the images recorded by the video surveillance cameras installed in the area where the attack took place: the videos will be sieved with extreme attention also to verify the version provided by the nineteen year old and to seek feedback from his reconstruction. In all likelihood, the boy will be heard again in the next few hours by the carabinieri to get as many details as possible about the stabber: it is not excluded that he assiduously frequents the same area in which his compatriot struck.
