Atlanta suffered a bitter defeat in the NBA on Friday. The Falcons lost 128-122 on the floor of the ‘thin’ of the League, Houston, thus achieving its 4th success of the season in 18 games.
The absence of Clint Capela, victim of toothache, does not explain everything, even if the Falcons were largely dominated under the panels in the absence of their Geneva pivot (59 rebounds for Houston, 28 for Atlanta). Especially since the Georgian franchise was up by 16 points in the third quarter (90-74).
The Falcons sank in the final minutes, despite Trae Young’s 44 points and Dejounte Murray’s 39. They haven’t been able to string together two straight wins since Nov. 7, when they beat Milwaukee for a third win in a drive to draw. Since then they have won just four out of nine games.
