Chabbey just off the podium at Paris-Roubaix

The Italian Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo) won the 2nd edition of «Paris-Roubaix Femmes». In the 125-kilometer “Hell of the North”, the 30-year-old attacked with 30 kilometers to go and left the competition 23 or more seconds behind. Elise Chabbey (Canyon/SRAM Racing) from Geneva, who finished the classic with its notorious cobblestones in 4th place, caused an exclamation mark from the Swiss point of view. The 28-year-old was part of a breakaway group of six fighting for the podium behind Borghini.

On Easter Sunday, Paris-Roubaix will also make the decision for the men. You can watch the race live from 2:20 p.m. on SRF Zwei and in the Sport App.

Prominent failures

The one-day race in France took place in the absence of two top drivers: Marianne Vos, three-time road world champion from the Netherlands, tested positive for the corona virus. Last year’s winner Lizzie Deignan (GBR) is also not at the start due to motherhood.
