On his second day of working visit to Russia, Cuba’s Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz continued with an extensive program of meetings, the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

During the day, he held meetings with the interim minister of Civil Defense, Emergency and Elimination of the consequences of Natural Disasters, Mr. Alexander Chupriyan; with the President of the Gaz Group, Vadim Sorokin, and with the CEO of Zarubezhneft jsc, Sergey I. Kudryashov.

In the meetings, the Antillean leader offered a broad explanation of the complex economic situation that Cuba is going through, mainly due to three factors: the intensification of the US blockade, the COVID-19 pandemic and the effects of climate change.

On the other hand, Cabrisas thanked the donations of food and medical supplies sent by Russia to the island and, in this sense, highlighted the relations of brotherhood and solidarity that unite both peoples and governments.

The parties ratified the willingness to continue developing bilateral ties, with emphasis on the economic, commercial, financial and cooperation spheres.
