The crimes of trafficking in persons recorded by the police in 2021 doubled again, from 41 in 2020 to 80 in 2021. This is the second highest number since 2008, the year in which this crime began to be recorded by Justice statistics. In 2019, the police registered 81 crimes, compared to 57 in the previous year. In fact, with the exception of 2021 and 2019, the remaining years never had more than 57 registered crimes. A crime can have several victims associated, that is, these 80 crimes can correspond to many more people, but the statistics do not go into this detail.
