A medical permanence opened its doors at the Monthey hospital in early November. Adults from 16 years old can go there with or without an appointment for minor emergencies, a check-up or medical follow-up.
The new permanence responds to the lack of general practitioners in the Chablais. It is the result of “close collaboration with the University Medical Policlinic (PMU) in Lausanne,” the Riviera-Chablais Hospital said on Wednesday.
After the move of acute care to the new Rennaz (VD) hospital in 2019, the permanence will remain on the Monthey site, which will be renovated and will also house 75 rehabilitation and geriatric beds. The permanence will gradually extend its services and hours.
To date, the permanence already houses a hypnosis consultation. From December 1, she will offer a tobacco consultation.
