Salzburg’s star strikers are also in great demand this summer – the Bulls meanwhile already have a replacement from the highest Croatian league on the hook.
Red Bull Salzburg was the measure of all things again last season. As befits their standing, the Bulls made attacker Patson Daka the top scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga (27 goals). Storm colleague Mergim Berisha also showed his skills with 14 goals. The striker duo therefore played on the notes of some top clubs and could dare to jump in the summer.
In the city of Mozart, however, they already have a plan for a replacement: According to the Croatian medium “Jutarnji”, Austria’s series champion should be interested in Ramon Mierez. At home club NK Osijek, an offer from Salzburg for over 5 million euros is said to be on the table for the center forward. However, tough negotiations could arise. At Osijek, the club of ex-Austria coach Nenad Bjelica, the pain threshold should be set at 10 million. An unnamed club from Moscow is said to have bid the most with a 6 million offer so far.
Ramon Mierez was loaned to NK Osijek by Deportivo Alaves in the 1st HNL last season. With 22 goals, the Argentine secured the top scorer’s crown in Croatia’s highest league. Then Croatia’s runner-up signed the 1.82-meter-tall attacker for 2.5 million euros.
