Cooked ham with the presence of allergens removed from the market. Three large supermarket chains recalled the same batch of cooked ham slices from their shelves marketed under different brands depending on the distribution chain due to the presence of undeclared allergens on the label. This was announced by the Ministry of Health on the portal dedicated to safety alerts and recalls of food products by operators: Eurospin, Carrefour and In’s Mercato have withdrawn from the market slices of high quality cooked ham sold in 750 gram packs with the lot number L230559. The ham is produced by the Motta Srl company in the Barlassina factory, in the province of Monza and Brianza. The same company that produced other batches of cooked ham already recalled in early February for the same reason. The ham is marketed under three different brands: La Bottega del Gusto by Eurospin, Il Mercato by Carrefour and Sapori Genuini by In’s Mercato. In all cases, the recall was ordered as a precaution due to the presence of undeclared soy on the label: the product must therefore not be consumed by soy allergy sufferers while they are safe for everyone else. Customers who have purchased cooked ham from the batch in question must not consume it but return it to the points of sale where they were purchased.
