Surprisingly, there is still someone interested in the insolvent Pella Sietas shipyard in Hamburg-Neuenfelde. A contractor from the district of Harburg wants to buy the entire company – and preserve Germany’s oldest shipyard.
Almost at the last minute, Steffen Lücking wants to prevent Sietas from being broken up. On the Internet Parts of the equipment from Germany’s oldest shipyard are already being auctioned off, and the three floating docks were also supposed to be sold. According to Lücking, he has now submitted a bid for the entire bankruptcy estate. It is unclear how much he would pay.
Shipyard for sports boats and traditional ships?
Lücking has so far appeared as a building contractor, and he also runs a farm south of Hamburg with his wife. He wants to continue Sietas as a shipyard location, including for sports boats and traditional ships. He would also like to manufacture small wind turbines in Neuenfelde – and get other medium-sized companies on board.

Sietas filed for bankruptcy last year. At that time, around 300 people were still employed in Neuenfelde, most of whom have since been made redundant or have resigned.
